October Meeting Reminder

It’s time for our monthly meeting and we have a speaker!

When:  Wednesday, October 8, 2014, from 7:00-9:00. Social time starts at 6:30

Where:  Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N 85th St, Seattle, WA 98103

On the agenda:

  • Approve the September minutes (posted on the Meetings page)
  • Updates on Sew-ins, BOM, elections, retreat
  • Giving committee update
  • SEAMQG Show in January (yay!)
  • “Caring for Your Machine” program by Cevin and staff from Sewing Machine Services
  • Sew-and-tell

IMPORTANT – For the election in November, all current members should have received an email on Sunday, Oct 5, from Grace.  If you did NOT receive this message, please email seattlemodernquiltguild@gmail.com so you get your ballot.  We know of at least one bounce back email.  Is it yours?

As you have noticed, our meetings have been running long. The board is working hard to shorten the business portion but we need your help as well.  For most of us, sew-and-tell is the best part of the meeting but it is also the hardest part to schedule.  With 50+ members and guests attending our meetings, we rightly celebrate many “ta-da’s” and finishes.  So everyone has a chance to see your work before the meeting’s scheduled end, please limit your sew-and-tell to one finished modern quilted item.

Now to packing for the meeting:

  • Nametag
  • Note paper and pen
  • Your latest finished project for Sew-and-Tell
  • October babies – please bring snacks to share

Have you checked our Calendar page on this site?  The Guild schedule is consolidated here and it is where you find information on fun stuff like Sew-Ins. Did you know there are three Sew-Ins this month, including one in Seattle?!

See you on Wednesday!
