Thanks to the awesome retreat committee, we’ve got our very first retreat scheduled.  The retreat is January 31 through February 2, 2014 at Camp Burton on Vashon Island.  The cost is $185 and includes your lodging, sewing space and meals from Friday lunch through Sunday lunch.  Check-in and check-out details are being ironed out (ha ha – quilting pun!) but the facility is reserved from 10:00 am on Friday through 5:00 pm on Sunday.  It’ll be a nice long time to sew with friends without having to cook, clean or do all those other things which interrupt quality creative time.

Rooms at Camp Burton are triple occupancy (twin beds) with a bathroom in each room.  Meals are served family style at designated times.  For people that have special dietary needs, the camp can accommodate most of these with adequate notice.  We will have a common sewing room that will have eighteen 8-ft tables with two sewing stations each.  There is also a small sitting room off the main common room that could be used by hand sewers (couches and comfy chairs) and for ironing and cutting tables.  The sewing room is separate from the sleeping area so you can work late or early.

Due to limited space, we are doing a pre-registration lottery for retreat attendees. To enter the lottery, please submit your information using the online form here.  The form will be active from September 5 through September 18 at 11:59 pm.

After the lottery closes, Random.org will be used to rank all the names.  Results will be announced Saturday Sept. 21, 2013.  People will then need to fill out the registration form and pay at the Oct 2nd guild meeting unless other arrangements are made.

If someone chooses not to attend camp after the lottery is processed or forfeits their spot, it will go to the next person in the list.  The absolute final day that we will accept registrations will be Oct. 15th unless other arrangements have been made.
