Hello SMQG!
Our October meeting felt like a kick-start to a quilter’s ideal fall season (nothing like thinikng ahead to Secret Santa & Super Bowl Sunday)! We covered a lot of information on upcoming events, challenges, our guild retreat, and more! The meeting also included some great Sew and Tell stories, delicious snacks ( as always 🙂 ), and a brief business review ( to keep things official, instead of just plain fun). As a guild it seemed that there was an air of excitement between members about creating, inspiring, and connecting with one another.
Our Riley Blake Basics Challenge kicked off during our break time where each participant received our precious little bundles of 6 different fabrics created by our lovely Challenges Committee.
I can’t wait to see what members will be creating with the Riley Blake Basics! Should be an exciting highlight for the December Meeting.
There was also some great snacks, including cookies and pumpkin loaf to get us in the mood for chilly weather and cozy comfort foods.
We welcomed two guests from Gig Harbor. These ladies were selling one dollar raffle tickets for their upcoming quilt festival in Gig Harbor during October 18th – 19th.
Here’s an idea…..Maybe we could get a group together to head over to help support our fellow quilters! Post about it on Big Tent if your are interested – start a topic of conversation!

You could potentially win this gorgeous quilt by purchasing a $1 raffle ticket at the Gig Harbor Quilt Festival
There were great giveaways as well as a large group of members who participated in the Sew & Tell segment of our meeting! The pictures from this meeting are currently posted on the Seattle Modern Quilt Guild Flickr page – feel free to check them out on Flickr before I even have a chance to post them to the world wide web (your own personal sneak peak! 🙂 ).

Wondering about these great giveaways?! Don’t worry. We will post more details about these lovely gifts.

Ever wonder what our group meetings look like?! Here’s one of our lucky giveaway winners receiving her prize.
If you have any photos to share from the meeting please join our Flickr group and make sure your photos are set to “public” sharing! I would love to add them to the upcoming posts inspired by our October meeting.
Look forward to our next installment all about the October Meeting with a re-cap of the Sew & Tell presentations as well as more details about our October give-away gifts.
