Have you had a time when you’ve got so much going on that you missed an important task? Like doing a reminder post? Yikes!
Anyway…
It’s time for our June meeting!
When: Wednesday, June 11, 2014, 7:00-9:00. Social time starts at 6:30
Where: Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N 85th St, Seattle, WA 98103
On the agenda:
- Approval of May minutes
- Announcements (of course!) including a new Block of the Month and the much anticipated member survey. Woot!
- Return of quilts displayed at the Northwest Folklife Festival. We had a great show
- Destash swap
- Demo by our own Debbie Jeske of A Quilter’s Table. We’re lucky to have so many talented members and you don’t want to miss Debbie’s demo! I for one am really looking forward to it
- Member card pick up. I know new members who joined in the second quarter are looking forward to their cards
- Sew-and-tell, of course! It’s the best part of the meeting
For the destash swap, the guidelines are posted on our MQG site group and repeated here for your convenience. 🙂
- All scraps are welcome and you need to only bring them in, no sorting or packaging required. No money either
- If you bring scraps, you don’t have to take any home, if you don’t want to. And, if you don’t bring any scraps, you can take some home. A win-win, as they say
- All scraps, all sizes (scrap is a relative term and yardage to some is a scrap to another), useful for quilting (so please no upholstery samples…), so wool, silk, of course our beloved cotton…all good
Pack your bag!
- Nametag. Pssst – we have a new nametag incentive. Members wearing their nametag get an extra door prize entry 🙂
- Destash fabrics
- Quilts of Valor blocks
- QuiltCon matrix if you want to compare notes
- Notepad for jotting down notes and inspirations. A pen or pencil might be useful, too
- Sew-and-tell
- Snacks (if you’re a June baby. Happy Birthday, BTW)
Whew! See you tomorrow!
