September Secret Sewing Swap

The time has come to sign up for our September Secret Sewing Swap!

To sign up and participate in this secret swap simply leave a comment on this post with your name and email address (open to current Seattle Modern Quilt Guild members only please).  Then, you will receive an email invitation from drawnames.com to join the SMQG September Secret Sewing Swap.  Follow the instructions in the email to join the group and fill out your wish list no later than August 17.  On August 18th the swap partners will be drawn automatically and your partner information will be emailed to you.

Please fill out your wish list with helpful information such as: favorite colors, hated colors, patterns you love, your favorite fabric designers, or any information you feel might help someone create something you will love.  However, don’t be so specific that your partner has no freedom to create. Also, include your social media info (instagram, flicker, blog) to allow for easy partner stalking.

The only conditions on your swap item is that it be quilted (mini quilts, mug rugs, quilted totes and pouches) and it must be at the September 10th guild meeting.  If you can not attend the September meeting please make arrangements with another person to get your swap item to the meeting (and pick up your swap item for you).

A few things to consider:
1. This is a secret swap so sneak peeks (or even full views) on social media are fun but don’t tag your partner!
2. This is an excellent time to stretch your skills and try something new.
3.  A great place to search for inspiration is the Schnitzel & Boo mini quilt swap flicker group or the SMQG Pinterest page.
4. Have fun!

Update: For those who do not wish to leave their email address on the blog, a post has been made on the Modern Quilt Guild site where you can leave your contact information.

  1. I want to play! I’m in Alaska, but I’ll arrange for someone to bring my swap item to the meeting, and will happily provide funds for my partner (or a proxy) to mail my received item back to me. Is that cool?

  2. Perhaps we could put the registration for this event on the MQG site instead in order to protect the privacy of our members?
