We are so excited to confirm that Christina Cameli, free motion quilter extraordinaire, will be coming to teach a workshop for us next month! Christina has authored two books on the subject (First Steps to Free-Motion Quilting and Step by Step Free-Motion Quilting), teaches classes on Craftsy and around Portland, and is on the Quiltcon 2016 schedule to teach even more FMQ classes. She can be found on her blog www.afewscraps.com or on instagram as @afewscraps.
Class description: Get the right start on your free-motion quilting adventure. Learn the absolute basics of free-motion and then jump in with exercises designed for complete beginners. We will spend class time sketching and stitching, with lots of opportunities to ask questions and fine tune your technique. Before leaving you’ll start your first free-motion quilted project with Christina’s supportive guidance.
Our workshop will be Saturday July 25th at 10:30am – 5:30pm at Quiltworks Northwest. The class fee ($63 to pay by check, $65 by paypal) includes 4 fat quarters, precut by QWNW – they will have an assortment of fat quarters ready when you get to class for you to choose from. The rest of the supply list will be sent once you register but it does include First Steps to Free-Motion Quilting if you’d like to get a jump start and order that. Of course, Christina will be happy to sign copies of either of her books at the class and she will have plenty of quilts on hand for you to look at.
Are you ready to sign up? Please use the form below to fill out the registration info and submit payment. A payment link will be on the confirmation screen (make sure you look for that, especially if you register from your phone) or you can pay via check at our next meeting. Please keep in mind that your spot is not confirmed until you have paid. Space is limited to 25 students and only open to Seattle MQG members at this time. Refunds will be given for cancellations only if your spot is able to be re-sold or if the workshop is cancelled.
*note: book links are Christina’s affiliate links
I want to do this! We get home on the day prior!
