October is shaping up to be another fun filled month for the Seattle Modern Quilt Guild. Grab your calendars jot down these events:
October 4 – Giving Committee Sew-in at Quiltworks Northwest in Bellevue (check out their site redesign). All you need to help out is your machine threaded with white or light gray thread and your sewing kit. Our Giving committee has all the fabric for the project. Rumor is there are door prizes, too!
October 8 – Color Forms exhibit opening at Seattle Pacific Art Center from 5:00-7:00. The collaborative installation for this exhibit is curated by our own Jessica V and features several Seattle MQG members. The exhibit is open from October 5 through November 27 during gallery hours – Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
October 11 – Sew-in at Quality Sewing and Vacuum in Tukwila. This place is HUGE! There’s plenty of room for everyone
October 14 – Monthly meeting at Greenwood Senior Center. Your Seattle Secret Sewing Swap (try saying that three times fast!) is due
October 31 – No tricks, just treats at our Sew-in at Quiltworks Northwest
Looking ahead – Elections in November, QuiltCon entries due by November 30
As you go to our sew-ins, please take a moment to thank our hosts. We are so lucky to have so many places to get together and sew! And, big thank yous going out to our sew-in coordinator Grace L and giving committee Kae E and Dionne M-B for arranging these opportunities. More kudos are due to swap committee Amber A and Ara Jane O. Our guild runs on our amazing volunteers!
