Krista Fleckenstein comes to Seattle

Krista Fleckenstein

We’ve been talking about our next workshop instructor for months and the time has finally come to get registered for these classes! Many of you know Krista Fleckenstein or are already familiar with her work.

In addition to being a wonderful modern quilter from the great state of Alaska, Krista’s first book Beyond Cotton was released with Lucky Spool last year. In it, we learn a variety of techniques to mix up our sewing routines by creating our own fabrics and using materials like leather that you don’t usually sew with.

There are so many great projects in this book that we actually wanted Krista to make some of them with us. We will be hosting two full-day workshops to get our hands dirty and have some fun. In addition, there will also be a lecture for those who want to learn a little more and/or cannot make it to one of the classes. Read on for details and registration info on all three events.

Both workshops are open only to Seattle MQG members at this time. Members – please register for only one of the two classes for the first week of registration. On Monday June 20th, you may register for the second class if there is still space available. If there are still spaces open in early/mid July, we will open those to quilters outside of the guild.
