The time has come for Krista Fleckenstein to visit our guild. Will you be one of the lucky members to learn a new technique from her this weekend? Or listen to her speak about making your work your own? If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance that you’re a Seattle MQG member, which means that Saturday’s lecture is free for you. Yes, free. Guests are just $10. There is plenty of room so come on down.

Krista has dabbled in many different techniques for transforming fabric before she sews with it. Her recent book Beyond Cotton showcases several of these methods that we, as quilters, can’t seem to get enough of. We will be learning block printing (Saturday 7/30, register here) and sewing with leather (Sunday 7/31, register here). Pre-registration is required for both classes. There is maybe 1 spot left for each class as of blog posting time.

Registration for the lecture  is not required ahead of time though it is helpful for determining how many chairs to set up. Again, there is no charge to current members and it’s only $10 for guests. Both can rsvp via this link. Krista will have a few copies of her book on hand (check or credit card are easiest) if you’d like to buy one directly from her.

See you this weekend!
