It was March 9, 2016 that we received news that there had been a natural gas explosion overnight at 85th and Greenwood, very near the Greenwood Senior Center where we hold our monthly meetings. Soon after, we heard about Set Sail, a fundraiser for Phinney Neighborhood Association, the area most affected by the explosion; and the idea came up to donate one of our guild quilts for their auction. Well, we’ve just confirmed that the donated quilt, “Piece Offering,” sold for $400, making its new owner very happy. And of course, it was nice to be able to give back to the neighborhood in a way that comes natural to us.
