February 2017 Meeting Recap

We had 56 people in attendance, including 3 members of the Melbourne Modern Quilt Guild.

  • 2017 Membership Renewals are PayPal only from here on out.
  • Spring Retreat sold out in 13 hours!  Volunteers needed for:
    • Activities
    • Gifts/swag
    • Happy hour/games
  • A quilter is needed to quilt a giving committee quilt.

What’s Happening?:

  • Guild Sew-Ins
    • Thursday 2/16/2017 @ QuiltworksNW, 2pm-8:30pm
    • Saturday 2/25/2017 @QuiltworksNW, 10:30am-5:30pm
  • The next MQG sew day will be February 19th in all time zones.  These virtual sew days happen the 3rd Sunday of each month, you can follow on Instagram with #mqgsewday
  • Upcoming MQG Events:
    • Fresh Quilting TV
      • The 1st episode will debut at Quiltcon, then all episodes will be available at once to MQG members.  No specific date was released.
    • Modern Quilt Masters Retreat with Denyse Schmidt
      • June 8-11, 2017 in Napa, CA
      • Registration opens on February 15th.

  • Sewing & Stitchery Expo
    • March 2-5, 2017
    • Daily Admission $10 at the WA State Fairgrounds in Puyallup.
  • Quilter’s Anonymous 36th Annual Quilt Show
    • March 17-19, 2017
    • Daily Admission $8 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.

  1. These meeting recaps are wonderful! Thank you so much for going to the trouble. This way if minutes come later we can still be informed about what’s going on, especially if we miss a meeting.
