Every month the MQG shares a quilt block on their site, the creation of one of our global members. Robbing Pete, designed by Rebecca Burnett of the Toronto MQG, a variation on the traditional quilt block Robbing Peter to Pay Paul, was the block in November 2016, and the inspiration for our giving quilt last April.
Guild members were asked to pull blues and greens from their stashes, using blues for the curved pieces, and greens for the backgrounds. Using a mix of solids and prints in any shade allowed for a wonderfully cohesive mix.
Our guild is a brave bunch! We’re really honored by those that were giving curves a try for the first time!
The Robbing Pete block is just 6 ½” square, and Louise used her mastery in grouping them together.
Louise also created the pieced backing, cleverly inserting one of our guild labels. Thanks to Dionne and her husband for those, by the way!
Rachel quilted it, using a different free-motion design in the curves and backgrounds, and Amy was pleased to bind it.
Thanks to everyone who took part in making this sweet quilt!
