Folklife Festival 2019

Posting a little later than planned, but this is the official call for quilts to show in our seventh annual Seattle Modern Quilt Guild display during the 2019 Northwest Folklife Festival.  If you have a recent finish, please consider loaning it to us to put on display.  Our quilts will hang in the Cornish Playhouse Courtyard from May 23-27 (Memorial Day Weekend) at the Seattle Center.

We will collect the quilts at the May 8 general meeting and return them at the June 12 meeting.  Our display averages around 20-25 quilts each year.  Help us grow our show and submit your quilt by filling out the entry form.  You may enter multiple quilts (one per form), but please limit to 3 per person.  There are no size restrictions, but all quilts require a hanging sleeve and a label with your name on it.  Both can be temporary, but must be firmly attached with safety pins.  More details are listed on the entry form.

For those of you that participated in the 2018 block of the month or attended any of our workshops from the past year, we would love to do special groupings of those quilts.  Please consider submitting them so we can show how one assignment can yield a wide range of quilts.

Don’t forget to volunteer to help with the show!  We need 6-8 volunteers to help set up on Thursday, May 23th and take down on Monday, May 27th.  You are welcome to volunteer even if you don’t submit a quilt.  Just follow the instructions on the entry form.  Other volunteer opportunities are listed at the end of the form.
