Folklife

Lotte collected quilts for Folklife which will be held over Memorial Day weekend at Seattle Center
Quilts will be returned at the June meeting
Volunteers are needed for set up and take down of the quilts

Giving Committee

Instructions for the next giving quilt are posted on the blog
The quilt is based on Anna Maria Horner’s Feathers
Green background fabric was handed out at the meeting – more is available from Erica if needed

Gwen Marston Tribute

Guild members shared their Gwen-inspired quilts and quilts they started in a Gwen workshop
They also told stories of their experiences with her
Some Gwen Marston “wisdom” was shared
- Strive for originality in your work
- Don’t worry about what the quilt police have to say
- Curiosity about quilts and quilt making is a good thing (what if I try that…)
- Try working in a series, and try working small to try out an idea
- and….Double fold binding is bulbous
