Holiday Party Sew-In 2019!

It’s time again for our annual all-day holiday party sew-in! Who is ready to celebrate and sew with your Seattle MQG friends!?

We do our best to set up the room to provide as many sewing machine spaces as possible, please keep in mind this is a very popular event and we cannot guarantee everyone space for a sewing machine. Arrive early and help set up if you need a sewing machine space, we suggest that you also bring a handwork project just in case.

When: Saturday, December 7th, 2019 – 11:30 AM – 7:30 PM
Where: Greenwood Senior Center

Schedule of Events:

11:00-11:30 am – Set-up
11:30 am – doors open to members

2:00 pm – Annual Blind Swap/Steal*

4:00 pm – Membership Survey Prize drawing

7:30 pm – doors close to members
7:30-8:00 pm – Clean-up

Catering! Food, Drinks: We will have sandwiches and salads for the party from Panera again this year. We are asking that you only bring dessert items if you would like to bring something to share with the group. (Anything you bring needs to go home with you…if there is anything left over, please.)

Please bring your own beverages.

We will have a banquet permit so you may bring beer or wine.

*Annual blind swap/steal: For those of you who are not familiar with this fun annual swap, here is how it goes…Bring a small quilted item or a small handmade item used in sewing that fits the modern quilting aesthetic, wrapped and ready to swap. Participants will draw numbers to determine the gift choosing order and the fun will begin there. We will use the usual swap/steal format with the number of times an item can be stolen limited to three. Items can be holiday themed but do not need to be.

Shared Supplies: We will need the usual items (Irons, Ironing boards, large cutting mats, design walls) please sign up here if you are able to bring these items.

Personal Supplies: Please bring everything you will need to work on your selected project (extension cords, surge protectors, sewing machine, power cord, foot pedal, bobbins, etc.)
