We were able to make two quilts from the Side Stripe blocks made by the Seattle MQG members. The block is available as a free resource on the MQG website designed by Renee Tallman.
The fabric for this quilt was generously donated to our guild and the members added the neutral and solid stripe to the block from their own stash.
The first quilt top was assembled by Rachel Singh and beautifully quilted by Jeanell Murphree. She quilted this amazing pattern in contrasting thread. More details in the picture below.
The quilt was bound in red by Clare Kapitan which ties the whole quilt together.
This quilt was donated to the Greenwood Senior Center for their annual fundraiser as a way to show our appreciation for letting us use their space for meetings and sew-ins.
For the second quilt top we slightly modified the arrangement of blocks.
The quilt was once again beautifully quilted by Jana Royal. Yay to everyone who quilted the charity quilts for us last year. Especially Jana who volunteered her time and effort for three quilts. More details of the quilting below.
Finally the quilt was bound by Yeechi Chen and donated to Mary’s Place. This was the most voted charity by our guild members and they were thrilled to receive the donation.
VERY nice. I appreciate seeing the final quilts and especially like knowing where they go. I love the differences between the two stripe ones.
Beautiful! It’s always great to see the finished quilt(s). Thanks to all the folks who make this happen. It’s one of the things I enjoy about being part of SMQG. 🤗
