Pacific Northwest Meet-up Survey – TIME SENSITIVE

The Portland MQG is planning another MQG meetup for this summer.  They have sent out a very brief survey looking for feedback including input on possible dates.  Please take a moment in the next few days to complete the survey so we can help them make some decisions!

The link to the survey is here:

Opportunities to Get Involved in 2020

Please see a board member if you are interested in contributing to the success of our guild.

  • Help us make the nomination/election process more transparent by getting involved
  • Volunteer on a committee to help plan a retreat, swap, or help greet members and visitors at meetings
  • Volunteer to help organize a sew-in in your neighborhood at libraries, churches, or coffee shops
  • We are specifically looking for someone to help with Instagram posts, which are primarily photos from the meeting sew-n-tell
  • Volunteer at meetings to help at the sign-in table, be a greeter or a buddy to new members

2020 Membership Renewal

  • Live on the blog now – 145 signed up so far
  • Please renew by 1/25/2020 so we can pay our guild dues to the MQG without a lapse in membership cards
  • Anyone not renewed by this date will lose access to MQG website beginning 2/1/2020
  • Dues are unchanged from 2019 – $57 ($55 + $2 PayPal processing)

Your dues fund rental of meeting space, learning opportunities and programming, charity quilts, deposits and future activities, quarterly sew-ins at GSC and the annual holiday party sew-in.

New Members

If you are a new member as of November, December or January don’t forget to pick up your logo tag and pin – usually at the sign in table at meetings or talk to Megan

Giving Committee

A new giving committee design was debuted by Matt, called “Improv New York Beauty.”  Fabrics to be used were handed out at the meeting.

  • Simple freehand cutting technique using two fat quarters
  • Makes two blocks at once!
  • Instructions are on the blog
  • Package contains two contrasting fat quarters
  • Press as desired – choose the path of least resistance

The Quiltcon Charity Quilt is nearly complete.

If you are interested in helping with quilting or binding charity quilts please contact Matt or Rachel.
