If you missed our April 14, 2021 Zoom meeting, here’s a link to the recordings, posted to Vimeo. You will need a password to view these videos. The password has been emailed directly to all paid Seattle MQG members.
Part 1 is no longer available.
There are two videos. Part 1 has the introductory part of the meeting and the talk by our guest speaker, Meg Cox. She generously allowed us to record her talk and it will be available for 2 weeks (through April 29, 2021).
Meg’s talk was entitled “400 Years of Quilts at the Click of a Mouse”. A former president of the national nonprofit Quilt Alliance, Meg shared the amazing online resources of the Alliance and other quilt archives. These include an oral history project archived at the Library of Congress, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Quilt Index, an online repository of more than 90,000 quilts. Each of these sites provide detailed documentation of their collections. Meg shared the stories behind some amazing quilts and provided ideas for how to take inspiration from the online quilt photos without infringing on copyrights.
The second video has an update on program and workshop plans for 2021, an introduction to Month 4 of our 2021 block of the month, The Salsa Medallion, and some beautiful quilt eye candy in Sew and Tell.
