Part 1: Speaker Sarah Nishiura (video has expired)
There are two videos: one for the speaker, and the other for guild business. You’ll also find an update on program and workshop plans for 2021/2022, guild election results, an introduction to Month 11 of the Salsa Medallion BOM, and some beautiful quilt eye candy in Sew and Tell.
This month’s speaker was Sarah Nishiura. Her talk took us traveling the globe through the textiles of indigenous cultures and fabric traditions. It was incredibly inspiring!
Travel the world and investigate the inspiring range of textile traditions, especially the contemporary textile arts of indigenous cultures. Travel through time to consider how centuries of globalism shaped the development of the American Quilt Tradition. The itinerary, based on Sarah’s personal interest, aims to inspire and engage the imagination.
