For those of you that are not too fond of checking in on bigtent we will have occasional wrap-ups of popular topics to keep you well informed! The PNW Meetup is a hot topic tonight with details about the guild tote swap, a post about potential roommates during the meetup, and some exciting conversation about the registration for the PNW Meetup going live.
Pictured above is a photo taken from the PNWMQG Meet-up Tote Swap Flickr Group. This is the Robert Kaufman fabric that will be donated and the only picture on their page so far. Join in the fun and make sure to post any pictures of your totes on Flickr to represent the SMQG!
Along with the fabric you will receive a suggested pattern to use if desired. Local artist Cheryl Kuczek’s Market Bag pattern can also be purchased at her website, Paradiso Designs. Cheryl also offers local sewing classes in her amazing garage-turned-studio work space.
Cheryl Kuczek’s studio space was recently featured in Studio Magazine. She has developed new techniques for making leather bags and is teaching classes this summer in her magazine featured studio! Check out her blog for more information.
If you are unable to make it to the PNWMQG Meetup in Portland you may still be able to participate by showing up at the August 7th meeting to be a part of the group lottery drawing for the remaining tote kits available. See you there!
Another topic that has been heavily commented on is a thread for the SMQG Retreat Meeting that occurred on July 23rd.
There are tons of fun details to come about the SMQG Retreat at Camp Burton such as a challenge featured at the Island Quilter quilt shop, catered meals, and luxurious accommodations during the upcoming winter season. There is a need for any interested guild members who are willing to help out with planning and coordinating this guild event. Please log on to bigtent to find out more!
